Resources for Veterans

Veteran2Empowerment™

The Entrepreneur’s Source® with over 100+ Career Ownership Coaches(R) across the USA, helps veterans returning to civilian life chart a new course, and achieve their unique American dream.

TES, the nation’s largest and well-established (founded 1984) career coaching franchise, fosters a unique education-based coaching system, tools, and resources to help veterans decide if they want to take a corporate job, start a new business from scratch, or pursue franchising. TES coaches help people find opportunities that align with their personal Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity goals to determine a new future. Our coaches help people learn how their skills, strengths and personal interests can translate to business ownership.

Veteran2Entrepreneur Provides Valuable Service

TES joined the Department of Defense in 2012 to advocate for people who served our country by launching its Veteran2Entrepreneur program. As part of this initiative, TES coaches commit to helping veterans and their families by offering education and coaching services at no cost. Coaches help veterans explore entrepreneurship with no cost or obligation.

Veterans Excel at Franchising

TES has found veterans to be highly motivated and engaged in the unique TES educational journey with a strong aptitude for and interest in franchising, distributorships, dealerships, and other proven entrepreneurial frameworks. With a known military transition date a year in advance, military community clients discover and articulate where they truly want to be professionally in five years. Active duty, veterans, and military spouses discover and validate a variety of possibilities.

Businesses owned by veterans provide jobs to 5.8 million Americans. Approximately 7 percent of the United States population are veterans, yet 14 percent of franchisees are veterans, the International Franchise Association reported. Veterans spent their time in the service developing critical thinking, leadership and management skills, which make them excellent candidates for business ownership.

In addition to possessing self-confidence and motivation, they excel at leveraging a proven system, making investing in a franchise an ideal option. Veterans learn to cope in high-stress situations when they are out in the field, making them ideal candidates for careers in the service industry. Having the support of a franchisor helps business owners ramp up quickly with a plan of action for success. It’s hard to compete with a franchise whose large ownership community honed and optimized their business model over the years and whose economies of scale allows each business owner access to industry best practices.

After spending years deployed to various hot spots around the globe, many veterans are searching for a flexible career that will allow them to spend time with their families. Many of the veterans we coaches prefer mobile businesses that allow them to manage back-office operations from a home office. Being close to home gives them the work-life balance they lacked during their military careers.

“Veterans want the freedom and autonomy of managing their own career, to improve their lifestyle and make a difference in their community. Many want to control their daily schedule and be closer to home,” added.

During her four-year coaching career, TES has helped countless veterans find a new path for their future. Two of her veteran clients opened home inspection businesses, while another opened a carpet cleaning franchise. “Military veterans are comfortable with managing various systems and processes in high-stress situations with diverse teams. They do well in franchising,” said.

Resources for Veterans

When working with a TES Career Ownership Coach, there are many resources exclusive to veterans that can be explored.
